Invictarx is known from only three partial skeletons, including bony plates called osteoderms that covered its back.1 2

Its armour had a smooth surface with many tiny pits, unlike the rough, grooved armour of some other nodosaurs.2

Some of its shoulder and back plates had a low, rounded ridge with a deep groove running along the top.2

Invictarx probably had a fused shield of polygonal (many-sided) bones over its hips, like a built-in suit of armour.2

It lived alongside other dinosaurs in a coastal plain environment, about 78.5 million years ago.1 2

The first Invictarx fossil was found in May 2011 by Daniel Williamson, and two more skeletons were discovered later.1

zure galderak

Invictarx: gehien egindako galderak

?How big was Invictarx?

Scientists do not know its exact size because only partial skeletons have been found, but it was a medium-sized nodosaurid, probably similar to other armored dinosaurs like Sauropelta.1 2

?What did Invictarx eat?

Invictarx was a plant-eating dinosaur. It likely ate ferns, cycads, and other low-growing plants that grew in its coastal plain environment.1 4

?When did Invictarx live?

Invictarx lived about 78.5 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous Period.1 5

?Was Invictarx a dinosaur?

Yes, Invictarx was a dinosaur. It was a nodosaurid ankylosaur, a type of armored, plant-eating dinosaur.1 2
