עובדות כיפיות
Chucarosaurus belonged to a group of giant titanosaurs called Colossosauria, which includes some of the heaviest land animals ever.1
Its thigh bone (femur) was about 1.9 meters (6.2 feet) long, showing it was a truly massive dinosaur.1
The name Chucarosaurus comes from a Quechua word meaning 'hard and indomitable animal,' like a wild horse.1
Its arms and legs were surprisingly slender for such a huge dinosaur, which is unusual among giant titanosaurs.1
Chucarosaurus lived about 100 million years ago, during the middle of the Cretaceous Period.4
Only a few limb bones have been found, so scientists are still learning about this dinosaur.1
