דברים מגניבים

עובדות כיפיות

Gobititan had 41 tail vertebrae, which is a lot for a sauropod. More advanced titanosaurs had fewer than 35.1

Its name comes from the Gobi Desert and the Titans of Greek mythology, meaning 'Gobi titan'.1

The species name 'shenzhouensis' comes from 'Shenzhou', an ancient name for China.1

Gobititan still had a fifth toe on its foot, a primitive feature that other titanosaurs lost.1

The only known fossil is a partial skeleton including 41 tail bones and part of a hind leg.1

Scientists think Gobititan lived about 123 to 113 million years ago, during the Aptian stage.1

Gobititan was originally thought to be a basal titanosaur, but now many scientists consider it a titanosauriform.1
