דברים מגניבים

עובדות כיפיות

Yurgovuchia gets its name from the Ute word for coyote, because it was a similar size and lived in the same area.1 2

Its fossils were found in the Doelling's Bowl bone bed in Utah, and the species name honors geologist Helmut Doelling.1 2

Yurgovuchia was a dromaeosaurid, meaning it was a close relative of famous raptors like Velociraptor.1 2

The holotype skeleton includes vertebrae and part of a pubic bone, and the bones show it was an adult when it died.1 2

It lived about 139 to 134 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period.1 3
