Oceanotitan might be the oldest known somphospondylan, a group of sauropods that includes the huge titanosaurs.1
Its name was inspired by the song 'Oceania' by Icelandic singer Björk.1
Oceanotitan had a unique bump on its shoulder blade and a special groove on its tail bones.1
It lived during the Late Jurassic, about 152 to 149 million years ago.2

- Oceanotitan was named in 2019 by paleontologists Pedro Mocho, Rafael Royo-Torres, and Francisco Ortega. The fossils were found in cliffs north of Praia de Valmitão in Portugal.41
