Sarahsaurus is one of only three sauropodomorph dinosaurs known from the Early Jurassic of North America.2

- Sarahsaurus was named in 2011 by Timothy Rowe, Hans-Dieter Sues, and Robert Reisz. The first fossils were collected between 1997 and 2000 by a team from the University of Texas and the Navajo Nation EcoScouts.41
