Leshansaurus had an elongated skull that was broader towards the front.1

Its femur (thigh bone) was 62 centimeters long, and its tibia (shin bone) was 52 centimeters long.1

Leshansaurus had a sharp central ridge on the bone above the occipital (back of the skull).1

The atlas intercentrum (a neck bone) of Leshansaurus was horseshoe-shaped in cross-section.1

Some scientists think Leshansaurus belonged to the Megalosauridae family, while others place it in Sinraptoridae.1

Leshansaurus lived about 168 to 161 million years ago, during the Bathonian to Callovian ages.2
