Amphicoelias was a giant, long-necked plant-eater that lived about 150 million years ago. It had very long and thin hind legs, and its front legs were longer than those of its close relative Diplodocus. This dinosaur was about as long as three school buses parked end to end!1

Amphicoelias was named by the famous paleontologist Edward Drinker Cope in 1877.1
