Tyrannotitan
Tyrannotitan was a huge, meat-eating dinosaur that lived in what is now Argentina. It was one of the biggest predators of its time, even bigger than T. rex! This dinosaur was a cousin of Giganotosaurus and Mapusaurus.1

Tyrannotitan had a very long femur (thigh bone) that measured 1.4 metres (4.6 feet).1
Its teeth were chisel-like with wrinkled enamel and heavy serrations, just like other carcharodontosaurids.1
The bones in its spine had air pockets (pneumatic openings), which made its skeleton lighter.1
Tyrannotitan lived during the Early Cretaceous, about 113 to 100 million years ago.1
It was more robust and bulkier than its close relatives Giganotosaurus and Mapusaurus.1
Only two incomplete skeletons of Tyrannotitan have been found, so scientists are still learning about it.1
