Hulsanpes
Hulsanpes was a small, speedy dinosaur that lived in what is now Mongolia. It had long legs and sharp claws, and scientists think it might have been a good runner that could also swim. This little raptor was about the size of a chicken!16

Hulsanpes is known from only a partial braincase and a few foot bones, making it one of the most mysterious raptors.1
The name Hulsanpes means 'Khulsan foot' because its fossils were found at a place called Khulsan in the Gobi Desert.1
Scientists think Hulsanpes was a young animal when it died, because its bones look rough and not fully grown.1
Hulsanpes belonged to a group called Halszkaraptorinae, which includes dinosaurs that may have lived partly in water.1
Its foot bones were slender and not fused together, which helped it run fast on the ground.1

- Hulsanpes was discovered in 1970 during a Polish-Mongolian expedition to the Gobi Desert. It was named and described by Polish paleontologist Halszka Osmólska in 1982.1
