Luanchuanraptor was a small, fast dinosaur that hunted other animals. It lived in what is now China during the Late Cretaceous period. This raptor was one of the first of its kind found outside the Gobi region and northeastern China.1

Luanchuanraptor was named by Lu Jun-chang and colleagues in 2007 based on fossils found in the Qiupa Formation of Luanchuan, Henan, China.1
