Barsboldia
Barsboldia was a duck-billed dinosaur that lived in what is now Mongolia. It had a long, heavy tail with club-like spines on its backbone. This dinosaur was one of the first of its kind found in the Nemegt Formation.41

Barsboldia had very long, club-like neural spines on its front tail bones, which made its tail heavier than most other duck-billed dinosaurs.1
Its tail was held horizontally off the ground while it walked, like a balancing pole.2
Barsboldia is known from only one incomplete skeleton, found by a Polish-Mongolian expedition in 1970.2
It was first thought to be a different dinosaur called Saurolophus angustirostris, but later scientists realized it was a new species.2

- Barsboldia was named in 1981 by Teresa Maryańska and Halszka Osmólska. They based it on a partial skeleton found in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.41
