Draconyx was a small plant-eating dinosaur that lived in what is now Portugal. It walked on two legs and had a beak to nibble plants. Its name means 'dragon claw' because of its sharp claws.1

Draconyx lived about 149 to 145 million years ago, during the Late Jurassic period.2

Draconyx was named in 2001 by Octávio Mateus and Miguel Telles Antunes. The fossils were found in 1991 at Vale de Frades, Portugal, by Carlos Anunciação.13
