Ferrisaurus is the first unique dinosaur species ever described from British Columbia, Canada.1

Ferrisaurus was named in 2019 by paleontologists Victoria Arbour and David Evans. The fossils were collected in 1971 by geologist Kenny F. Larsen along the BC Rail line in British Columbia, Canada.1

Scientists are not sure exactly how Ferrisaurus is related to other leptoceratopsids, but they think it was more closely related to Leptoceratops than to Montanoceratops.1
