Moganopterus was a huge flying reptile with a long, blade-like beak full of sharp teeth. It soared over ancient lakes in China about 125 million years ago, snatching fish from the water.13

The fossil was found at Xiaosanjiazi Village in Liaoning, China, and named in 2012 by Lü Junchang and colleagues. The species name honors Ms. Zhu Haifen, who made the specimen available for study.1
