Pareisactus was a small, plant-eating dinosaur that lived in what is now Spain. It is known from just one shoulder bone, but that bone tells us a lot about this mysterious creature.12

Pareisactus is known from only a single shoulder blade, called a scapula.12

Its name means 'intruder' because it was found among hundreds of bones from a different dinosaur group, the hadrosaurids.1

Pareisactus belonged to a group called Rhabdodontidae, which were plant-eating dinosaurs that lived in Europe.21

It was the seventh species of rhabdodontid found in Europe, and the third from the eastern Tremp Syncline in the Pyrenees.2
