Huabeisaurus
Huabeisaurus was a huge, long-necked plant-eater that stomped around what is now China during the Late Cretaceous. It was about as long as a bowling lane and as tall as a two-story house. This dinosaur helps scientists understand how sauropods evolved in Asia.1

The skeleton was found in the 1990s in the Huiquanpu Formation of Shanxi, China.1
Huabeisaurus had five vertebrae fused together in its hip area, forming a strong plate.2
It lived alongside the ankylosaur Tianzhenosaurus and other dinosaurs.1
The specimen was almost fully grown, but not completely mature, because some bones had not yet fused.1

- Huabeisaurus was named by Pang Qiqing and Cheng Zhengwu in 2000. The fossils were found in the 1990s in Tianzhen County, Shanxi, China.12
