Savannasaurus
Savannasaurus was a huge, long-necked plant-eater that lived in Australia about 95 million years ago. It had a very wide hips and a body shaped like a barrel, making it look extra chunky. This dinosaur is one of the most complete sauropod skeletons ever found in Australia.1

Savannasaurus had one of the widest hips of any sauropod, measuring over one metre across.1
Its name means 'savanna lizard' because it was found in a dry, grassy area of Australia.1
This dinosaur lived during the Cretaceous Period, about 100 to 90 million years ago.3
Savannasaurus is a titanosaur, a group of sauropods that spread all over the world by 125 million years ago.1
Its bones were found in a single concretion, meaning they were stuck together in a hard rock.1
Savannasaurus had a wide body and a long neck, but its tail was relatively short compared to other sauropods.1
