Prettige feite

Texasetes lived about 106 to 100 million years ago, during the Albian age of the Cretaceous Period.4

Its fossils were found in the Pawpaw Formation, which was a shallow sea environment at the time.4

Texasetes was a type of nodosaurid, a group of armoured dinosaurs with spikes on their bodies.1

Scientists think Texasetes was a ground-dwelling animal that moved around on four legs.1

The name Texasetes means 'Texas being', because it was found in Texas.4

Waarheid: Texasetes was an armoured dinosaur that walked on land. It could not fly.4

Vir dino-kenners

Wetenskaplike naam: Texasetes
Benoem deur: Coombs 19954
Groep: Gepantserde dino's
Familie / klade: Nodosauridae4
Klassifikasie: Ornithischia > Ankylosauria > Nodosauridae > Thyreophora4
Ouderdom van die rotse: 106 tot 100 miljoen jaar (Albian)4
Rotsformasies: Pawpaw4
Lande: VSA4
Fossielrekords: 2 in The Paleobiology Database4
Ontdekking: Texasetes was named by Walter P. Coombs in 1995. The fossils were found at the Blue Mound nodosaur site in Texas, USA.4
Steeds omstrede: Scientists are not sure if Texasetes is the same as another armoured dinosaur called Pawpawsaurus, because some researchers think they might be the same animal.1
