Prettige feite

Volgatitan is the oldest titanosaur ever found in the northern half of the world.1 2

Its fossils were discovered in marine rocks, meaning it probably lived near a sea or its body washed into the ocean after death.2 3

Scientists know Volgatitan from only seven tail bones found together.1 3

It belongs to a group called Lognkosauria, which includes some of the heaviest dinosaurs ever, like Argentinosaurus.2 1

Volgatitan weighed about 17.3 metric tons, which is roughly the same as a big truck.2 1

Its tail bones had a special ball-and-socket joint, making them very strong.2 3
