Daxiatitan was named in 2008 by You Hailu, Li Daqing, Zhou Lingqi, and Ji Qiang. The fossils were found in the Hekou Group of rocks in Gansu, China.1
Still debated
Scientists are not sure exactly how Daxiatitan is related to other long-necked sauropods. Some studies place it with titanosaurs, while others group it with mamenchisaurids.1
