Ilokelesia is known from only a few skull and skeleton fragments, discovered in 1991.1
Its name comes from the Mapuche language, where 'ilo' means flesh and 'kelesio' means lizard.1
Ilokelesia was found just 10 meters away from another dinosaur called Huinculsaurus.1
