Jianchangosaurus
Jianchangosaurus was a small, feathered dinosaur that walked on two legs. It lived about 125 million years ago in what is now China. This dinosaur had a beak and teeth like a plant-eater, but scientists once thought it might eat meat.21

עובדות כיפיות
Jianchangosaurus had wide, unbranched feathers on its neck that may have been used for display, like a peacock's tail.32
It is one of the most complete therizinosaur skeletons ever found, missing only the tip of its tail.3
Its teeth were set in a shelf-like jaw, similar to some plant-eating dinosaurs like ornithopods and ceratopsians.3
Jianchangosaurus was about 2 meters (6.6 feet) long and stood 1 meter (3.3 feet) tall at the hips.2
It lived during the Early Cretaceous period, between about 125 and 119 million years ago.1
השאלות הנפוצות ביותר על Jianchangosaurus
?How big was Jianchangosaurus?
About 2 metres (6.6 feet) long and 1 metre (3.3 feet) tall at the hips. It probably weighed around 26 kilograms (57 pounds).2
?What did Jianchangosaurus eat?
It was a plant-eater. Its teeth were shaped to slice plant fibres, and it had a beak at the front of its mouth.23
?Did Jianchangosaurus have feathers?
Yes. Impressions of wide, unbranched feathers were found with its skeleton, similar to those of Beipiaosaurus.23
?When did Jianchangosaurus live?
It lived about 126 million years ago, during the Early Cretaceous Period.2
?Where was Jianchangosaurus found?
Its fossil was found in Jianchang County, Liaoning Province, China, in the Yixian Formation.2
