Nankangia lived at the same time and place as at least four other oviraptorosaurs, including Banji and Ganzhousaurus. They probably ate different foods so they did not compete too much.2 1

Its lower jaw did not turn downward like some other oviraptorosaurs. This may have given it a smaller mouth opening, better for nibbling soft plants.2

The only known fossil of Nankangia was found by a local farmer in 2010 and donated to the Ganzhou Museum of Natural History.1

Nankangia belonged to a group of dinosaurs called oviraptorosaurs, which were feathered and looked a bit like birds.2
