Talarurus lived about 96 to 89 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period.2
Its tail club looked like a wicker basket, which is how it got its name.2

- Talarurus was named by Russian paleontologist Evgeny Maleev in 1952, based on fossils found in 1948 by a Soviet-Mongolian expedition.21
