Amazonsaurus is the only dinosaur that has been given a full scientific name from the Itapecuru Formation in Brazil.1
It lived during the Early Cretaceous period, about 125 to 100 million years ago.1
The fossils were found in rocks that were once a floodplain near a river delta.1
