Imrankhanhero was named in 2023, making it a very recently discovered dinosaur.2

Its fossils were found in the Vitakri Formation in Pakistan, which is about 72 to 66 million years old.2 2

The name Imrankhanhero honors Imran Khan, a famous cricketer and politician, and also a journalist named Imran Riaz Khan.1

It belonged to a group of long-necked dinosaurs called titanosaurs, which were some of the largest land animals ever.2 1

The type specimen includes parts of its right arm, thigh bone, and shin bone, all from one individual.2 1

Some fossils from India, like a tibia and fibula, have also been identified as belonging to Imrankhanhero.1
