Pantydraco
Pantydraco was a small, long-necked dinosaur that lived in what is now Wales. It walked on two legs and munched on plants with its tiny teeth. Scientists think it was a baby or a young dinosaur when it died.14

Pantydraco was first thought to be a different dinosaur called Thecodontosaurus, but scientists later gave it its own name.12
Its name comes from the quarry where it was found, Pant-y-ffynnon, which means 'hollow of the spring' in Welsh.1
Pantydraco had special holes in its neck bones that let air sacs in, making its skeleton lighter.2
It lived during the Late Triassic or Early Jurassic, about 237 to 227 million years ago.4

?How big was Pantydraco?
Adults were about 3 metres (9.8 ft) long and weighed around 50 kilograms (110 lb). The juvenile fossil was only 0.7 to 1 metre (2.3 to 3.3 ft) tall.31
?What did Pantydraco eat?
It was probably omnivorous, eating both plants and small animals. Its teeth were well developed for chewing.3
