Brasilotitan had a lower jaw shaped like an 'L', with the front part slightly twisted inward. This feature had never been seen before in any titanosaur.1 2

The name 'nemophagus' means 'pasture eater' or 'wood eater', referring to its plant-based diet.1

Some of the fossil bones show puncture marks, and theropod teeth were found nearby. Scientists think a meat-eating dinosaur may have scavenged the carcass before it was buried.1

Brasilotitan was small for a sauropod, probably less than 12 metres (39 feet) long.1

The fossil includes a right dentary (lower jaw bone), neck vertebrae, part of the sacrum, hip bones, and a toe claw.1 2

Brasilotitan is closely related to another Brazilian titanosaur called Uberabatitan.1

ርኽበት: William R. Nava collected the partial skeleton in 2000 along a road near Presidente Prudente, Brazil. In 2013, a team led by Elaine B. Machado described it as a new genus and species, Brasilotitan nemophagus.1 2
ገና ዘከራኽር: Scientists are not sure exactly how Brasilotitan is related to other titanosaurs. Some studies place it close to Uberabatitan, while others suggest it is related to Antarctosaurus and Bonitasaura.1
