Its name comes from the Navajo language and means 'creek lizard'.1

The skull of Naashoibitosaurus has a low nasal crest that peaks in front of the eyes, not a big arch like some other duck-billed dinosaurs.1

Scientists disagree whether Naashoibitosaurus is a separate genus or the same as Kritosaurus.1

It lived about 73 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period.1

As a hadrosaurid, it could walk on two legs or all fours and feed on plants from the ground up to about 4 meters (13 feet) high.1
