Petrustitan was a long-necked plant-eating dinosaur that lived on an island in what is now Romania. It was a titanosaur, a group that included some of the biggest land animals ever, but Petrustitan was small compared to its giant cousins.2

Petrustitan was first named as a species of Magyarosaurus by Friedrich von Huene in 1932. In 2025, scientists Díez Díaz and colleagues gave it its own genus name Petrustitan.1
