Ammosaurus
Ammosaurus was a long-necked dinosaur that lived during the Early Jurassic, about 195 to 180 million years ago. It was a plant-eater that probably walked on all fours but could stand on its hind legs to reach high plants. Fossils of this dinosaur have been found in the USA and Canada.12

Ammosaurus was once called Yaleosaurus, named after the famous Yale University.4
Some scientists think Ammosaurus might actually be the same dinosaur as Anchisaurus, just a larger individual.2
Fossils of Ammosaurus were found in a bridge abutment in Connecticut, USA, when the bridge was demolished in 1969.2
Ammosaurus lived in a dry environment with strong wet and dry seasons, like a desert today.2
Its spoon-shaped teeth were perfect for ripping plants, and it had fewer teeth than many other prosauropods.2

?When did Ammosaurus live?
Ammosaurus lived during the Early Jurassic Period, about 200 to 185 million years ago.12
?Where was Ammosaurus found?
Fossils of Ammosaurus have been found in the USA and Canada, including in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Nova Scotia.21
