Aragosaurus was a huge, long-necked plant-eater that stomped through what is now Spain about 145 million years ago. It had a small head, a bulky body, and a long, muscular tail.1

Aragosaurus was named in 1987 by Spanish paleontologists Jose Luis Sanz, Angela Buscalioni, Maria Lourdes Casanovas, and Jose Vicente Santafe, based on a partial skeleton found in Galve, Spain.12

Scientists are not sure exactly how Aragosaurus is related to other sauropods. Some think it is a close relative of Camarasaurus, but others place it in a different group.1
