Tienshanosaurus
Tienshanosaurus was a giant, long-necked plant-eater that stomped through what is now China during the Late Jurassic. It was so big that scientists think it could reach about 12 metres long, as long as a school bus! It probably used its long neck to munch leaves from tall trees.1

Tienshanosaurus had a very long neck, with neck bones that were longer than its back bones.2
Its neck bones had deep holes called pleurocoels, which made the bones lighter.2
Scientists found fossils of about thirty adults and three babies together, which might mean they lived in groups.1
The first fossil was discovered in 1928 by a Chinese geology professor, and it included a fossilized egg.1
Tienshanosaurus is named after the Tian Shan, which means 'heavenly mountains' in Chinese.1

Mothubi wa ditlhamane
Tlhamane: Some people think Tienshanosaurus was a meat-eater because it had sharp teeth.
Boammaaruri: Actually, Tienshanosaurus was a plant-eater, as shown by its teeth and the way its body was built.3
