Vouivria was named in 2017, making it a relatively new dinosaur discovery.1
Its fossils were first found in 1934 by workers in a chalkstone quarry, but it took over 80 years for scientists to realize it was a new species.1
Vouivria is the oldest known brachiosaurid dinosaur, living about 160 million years ago.1
The skeleton of Vouivria is one of the most complete sauropod skeletons ever found in France.1
Vouivria's thighbone is 146 centimetres long, which is about as tall as a grown-up person.1
Theropod teeth were found among Vouivria's bones, showing that meat-eaters scavenged on its carcass after it died.1
