趣味知識

Jianchangornis had at least 16 small, cone-shaped teeth in its lower jaw.2

It is one of the few early birds that had a predentary bone, a special bone at the tip of the lower jaw.2

The fossil of Jianchangornis is nearly complete and includes feathers.1

Its wings were strong, and scientists think it was a powerful flier.2

Jianchangornis lived about 120 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period.1

The first fossil of Jianchangornis was found in the Jiufotang Formation in Liaoning, China.3
