It was a mamenchisaurid, a group of sauropods known for their extremely long necks.3
The first fossils were found in a quarry at Lufeng World Dinosaur Valley.2
Scientists think Chuanjiesaurus was about 25 meters (82 feet) long, as long as two school buses.1
The name comes from the village of Chuanjie, where the bones were dug up.1
Some bones that were first thought to belong to Chuanjiesaurus were later given a new name: Analong chuanjieensis.2
