Imrankhanhero was named in 2023, making it a very recently discovered dinosaur.2
Its fossils were found in the Vitakri Formation in Pakistan, which is about 72 to 66 million years old.22
The name Imrankhanhero honors Imran Khan, a famous cricketer and politician, and also a journalist named Imran Riaz Khan.1
It belonged to a group of long-necked dinosaurs called titanosaurs, which were some of the largest land animals ever.21
The type specimen includes parts of its right arm, thigh bone, and shin bone, all from one individual.21
