Ruyangosaurus had a thigh bone (femur) that was 207 centimetres long, longer than a tall adult person.1
Its shin bone (tibia) was 127 centimetres long, showing it was a truly giant dinosaur.1
Ruyangosaurus lived during the Early Cretaceous period, about 121 to 100 million years ago.2
It shared its home with other dinosaurs like Xianshanosaurus, Yunmenglong, and the small meat-eater Luoyanggia.1
