Serikornis
Serikornis was a small, feathered dinosaur that lived about 160 million years ago. It had long feathers on its arms and legs, but it couldn't fly. Instead, it probably used its feathers for display or to help it run.1

The name Serikornis means 'silken bird' because of its beautiful, feathery coat.1
It had long feathers on its hind legs all the way down to its toes, which is unusual for a ground-dwelling dinosaur.1
The feathers on its arms were symmetrical and didn't have tiny hooks called barbules, so they weren't good for flying.1
Serikornis lived during the Late Jurassic period, about 161 to 155 million years ago.2
Scientists think Serikornis was a ground-dwelling dinosaur that did not climb trees or fly.1

Ibibazo bibazwa cyane kuri Serikornis
