Martharaptor
Martharaptor was a feathered dinosaur that lived in what is now Utah during the Early Cretaceous. It was a therizinosauroid, a group of plant‑eating theropods with long claws and pot bellies. Its hands and feet were a mix of old and new features, making it a special link between early and later therizinosaurs.12

Dintlha tse monate
Martharaptor is known from a single partial skeleton that includes vertebrae, a shoulder blade, arm and leg bones, and several hand claws.2
Its hand claws were deep and strongly curved, with a big flexor tubercle for attaching strong muscles.2
The foot claws were narrow and strongly curved, and the first toe claw was smaller than the others.2
Martharaptor lived about 124 million years ago, during the early Aptian stage of the Early Cretaceous.2
The genus name honors Martha C. Hayden, who helped discover the fossil site and worked as assistant to three Utah state paleontologists.12
Its skeleton was found scattered in a small area, but all bones belong to a single individual.2

Dipotso tse botswang haholo ka Martharaptor
?What did Martharaptor eat?
Martharaptor was a plant‑eating dinosaur. It belonged to the therizinosauroid group, which are known to be herbivores.12
?How big was Martharaptor?
Scientists are not sure of its exact size because only a partial skeleton has been found. Its shoulder blade was about 15 centimetres (6 inches) long, suggesting it was a medium sized dinosaur.1
?Did Martharaptor have feathers?
Yes, Martharaptor was a feathered dinosaur. It belonged to the therizinosauroid group, which are known to have had feathers.1
?When did Martharaptor live?
Martharaptor lived about 124 million years ago, during the early Aptian stage of the Early Cretaceous.2

- Martharaptor was named in 2012 by paleontologists Phil Senter, James Kirkland, and Donald DeBlieux. The skeleton was found at the Hayden-Corbett site in Utah, above the layer that contains the earlier therizinosaur Falcarius.12

- Scientists are not completely sure that Martharaptor is a therizinosauroid. The evidence is weak, and some features could also belong to other dinosaur groups.2
