Ilokelesia
Ilokelesia was a meat-eating dinosaur that lived in what is now Argentina about 106 million years ago. It was a medium-sized predator that walked on two legs and had special bones in its skull and spine that made it different from other meat-eaters.1

Dintlha tse di monate
Ilokelesia is known from only a few skull and skeleton fragments, discovered in 1991.1
Its name comes from the Mapuche language, where 'ilo' means flesh and 'kelesio' means lizard.1
Ilokelesia was found just 10 meters away from another dinosaur called Huinculsaurus.1
Scientists think Ilokelesia was one of the earliest and most primitive abelisaurids, a group of horned meat-eaters.1
The bones of Ilokelesia have special features on the skull and spine that help tell it apart from other abelisaurids.1
