Pareisactus is known from only a single shoulder blade, called a scapula.1 2

Its name means 'intruder' because it was found among hundreds of bones from a different dinosaur group, the hadrosaurids.1

Pareisactus belonged to a group called Rhabdodontidae, which were plant-eating dinosaurs that lived in Europe.2 1

It was the seventh species of rhabdodontid found in Europe, and the third from the eastern Tremp Syncline in the Pyrenees.2

The shoulder blade of Pareisactus has a deep and thick roof over a very deep deltoid fossa, which is a muscle attachment area.2
