Lishulong
Lishulong was a long-necked plant-eater that lived in China during the Early Jurassic. It had the biggest skull of any early sauropodomorph found in the Lufeng Formation, about 40 centimeters (16 inches) long.1

Lishulong's skull is the largest sauropodomorph skull from the Lufeng Formation, measuring 40 centimeters (16 inches) long.1
The neck bones of Lishulong are very long; the axis vertebra is 16.3 centimeters (6.4 inches) long, and the tenth cervical vertebra is 19.9 centimeters (7.8 inches) long.1
Lishulong lived during the Early Jurassic, about 199.5 to 174.7 million years ago.5
It is an early-diverging member of the Sauropodiformes, closely related to Yunnanosaurus.2
The fossil was discovered in 2007 near Jiudu Village, close to where the theropod Panguraptor was found.1
Lishulong is known from a partial skeleton including the skull, lower jaw, and nine neck vertebrae.1
