Shuangbaisaurus is known from only one partial skull and part of its lower jaw.1
The skull of Shuangbaisaurus was about 54 centimeters (21 inches) long.2
It had two bony crests that ran along the top edges of its eye sockets, called parasagittal crests.2
Shuangbaisaurus lived during the Early Jurassic Period, about 201 to 199 million years ago.3
Its fossils were found in purple muddy siltstone, which is a type of rock formed from ancient mud.1
The name Shuangbaisaurus comes from Shuangbai County, where the fossil was discovered.1
