Aragosaurus
Aragosaurus was a huge, long-necked plant-eater that stomped through what is now Spain about 145 million years ago. It had a small head, a bulky body, and a long, muscular tail.1

Aragosaurus is known from a partial skeleton, including parts of the backbone, hips, and legs.1
It lived during the Early Cretaceous period, about 145 to 140 million years ago.1
It weighed about 25 tonnes, as much as five African elephants.1
Like other sauropods, Aragosaurus walked on all four legs and had a long neck to reach high tree leaves.1

- Aragosaurus was named in 1987 by Spanish paleontologists Jose Luis Sanz, Angela Buscalioni, Maria Lourdes Casanovas, and Jose Vicente Santafe, based on a partial skeleton found in Galve, Spain.12
