Draconyx lived about 149 to 145 million years ago, during the Late Jurassic period.2
Only a partial skeleton has been found, including teeth, tail bones, arm and leg bones, and claws.1
The bones show that the Draconyx individual was fully grown when it died, at an age between 27 and 31 years old.1
The first Draconyx fossils were found in 1991 by Carlos Anunciação, a member of the Museum of Lourinhã.13
Draconyx had a beak and teeth with a strong ridge, which helped it chew tough plants.1
