Mandschurosaurus was the first dinosaur genus ever named from China.1
Its name means 'lizard from Manchuria' because it was found in Manchuria, a region in northeastern China.1
The skeleton on display in St. Petersburg is mostly plaster because the real bones were poorly preserved.1
