Eurolimnornis
Eurolimnornis was a small flying reptile that lived in the Early Cretaceous period, about 143 million years ago. It soared over a warm, tropical archipelago of volcanic and coral islands, hunting for fish in the rivers and lakes below.1

Eurolimnornis was first thought to be a bird, but later studies showed it was actually a pterosaur, a flying reptile.1
The only known fossil of Eurolimnornis is a tiny piece of its upper arm bone, called a humerus.1
Eurolimnornis lived on a chain of volcanic and coral islands, similar to the Caribbean or Indonesia today.1
The climate where Eurolimnornis lived was warmer and wetter than today, with many rivers, lakes and swamps.1
Eurolimnornis is sometimes considered a junior synonym of Palaeocursornis, meaning they might be the same animal.2
