Feilongus had two bony crests on its skull, one on the snout and one at the back of the head.1
Its upper jaw stuck out 27 millimeters (1.1 inches) longer than its lower jaw, giving it an overbite.1
Feilongus had 76 long, curved, needle-like teeth, only in the front part of its jaws.1
Its wingspan was about 2.4 meters (7.9 feet), making it large for an early pterodactyloid.1
Feilongus lived during the Early Cretaceous, around 124.6 million years ago.1
Scientists are not sure exactly which group Feilongus belongs to; some think it is related to ctenochasmatids, others to ornithocheiroids.1

?Was Feilongus a dinosaur?
No, Feilongus was a pterosaur, a flying reptile that lived during the time of dinosaurs. Pterosaurs are not dinosaurs, but they are close relatives.1
?How big was Feilongus?
Feilongus had a wingspan of about 2.4 meters (7.9 feet), which is large for an early pterodactyloid. Its skull was about 390 to 400 millimeters (15.4 to 15.7 inches) long.1
?What did Feilongus eat?
Feilongus likely ate fish, using its long, needle-like teeth to scoop them from the water. Some scientists think it may have strained food from water like flamingos do today.1
